This listing is for One (1) Vintage, Monarch Heavy Duty Table/Office Stapler manufactured in the mid-1950's by the (now defunct) Vail Manufacturing Company, Chicago, Illinois, USA.  This handsome, solidly-built desktop all steel stapler was designed in the early 1950's and remained in production into the 1960's.
The stapler design has exceptional features not found on most staplers even today, such as the Chromed
E-Z Slide tab
that allows you to see (from both sides) how many staples remain within the stapler housing without having to open the unit;  a tab that releases the staple chamber upward without having to physically pry open the stapler halves or lift the stapler off your desktop; and a large, oversize, bright-chrome rounded push cap to allow easy to achieve stapling.
The underside frame also features a trademark leather damping washer, visible along with the aligning snap that holds the base frame in place when the stapler is physically lifted.
There is an extremely small indentation visible upon close examination, located on the front view, lower base left edge, that disperses light when viewed straight-on.   Everything is assembled in a way that allows the mechanism to operate smoothly and repetitively, consistent with the feel of a luxury product.
This stapler accepts standard size office staples, has a hefty un-packaged weight of 1 pound, 10 ounces; measures 8 inches in length X 2 inches wide... Nobody is dropping this in a pocket and walking away!  One full strip of standard staples is included, and the stapler will ship pre-loaded, unless removal is requested prior to shipping.

Vail Manufacturing phased-out their own "Victor" Stapler line in 1958, and as of June, 1958, the "Monarch" Stapler name (which was a clone of the Victor design) took its' place in their featured product line-up.  This Monarch stapler is a handsome, strongly-built, mid-century piece that is now extremely clean and fully-functional.   Ideal for office or home use, as a great display piece, and ready for immediate use without the need for additional work.
